    What do ya think?

So I went to look at a car today, an 88' 325is with 150k on it. Car is solid except for a soft spot in the floor. Don't know when timing belt/water pump were done last so those would have to be done. Also, it has a fluctuating idle once it reaches temperature but doesn't stall or smoke. It looks like it might leak a bit of oil out of the valve cover. Paint is rattle caned but will do for now, was originally black. Has recaro sport seats and e30 m3 steering wheel. The wheels on the car are basketweaves and it has a spare one also. Windows and sunroof work too. It passed inspection 3 months ago...

Based on that what do you guys think would be a good offer on it? and if you know...what might be up with the fluctuating idle? Thanks for helping out a noob...:)

a vacuum leak perhaps, it is the most common fault on older non-serviced cars, when the intake hoses are cracked or damaged.

but again, it is an old car, it could be anything. hoses are easy to inspect, you just need a flat screwdriver(to take them off)
