I have to ask.. What is so special about houndstooth interior?

Sorry i am new to these cars and in the past couple months had heard so much about the coveted "houndstooth" interior fabric. why is it so special? I searched but could not find any definitive answer.
is it safe to assume i should jump on the mint interior with this fabric i just came across? I was going to get it just for the fact that the guy wants to trade for my ratty/torn almost houndstooth (looks similar) interior plus 20 bucks a seat. It would be more comfortable then my worn out saggy seats

Houndstooth is one of the rarest factory interior options (besides plaid, and I think there are a few other REALLY obscure ones), also, I personally think it looks really nice. All personal taste though, some people don't really care for it, but if you can get a good deal on it like you said then I'd say hop on it because you could always resale it if you wanted something else.

i liked it when i was a kid, thats why i like it and want it. I think it looks ugly as sin on most modern clothing though.

It goes with the 'AC removed' mod and the 'Euro clock' mod, the 316 panels with no BC etc. Very entertainingly, all those features that were considered premium and that you paid for when you ordered the car in europe are now undesireable (on r3v) for the sake of rarity. As I said, I find it very amusing. And I like houndstooth - on sports coats or country coats.

My first E30 had it, and I can remember the day that the first little strip of fabric pulled away from the center cushion one of the seats like it was yesterday. I was unable to find houndstooth at all when I was last hunting for another E30. I wish I had never sold that first E30 - the interior would have ended up in my current ride.

I just think it's cool. I have some houndstooth volcom sandals.
