    Gas smell?

my car sometimes doesn't start either... it will take a few tries before the starter will engage, but the engine will turn over immediately

when I turn the key, I can hear something click, but the starter doesn't start working

it doesnt crank at all. the battery is just dead.. a jumpstart gets it going but the problem still continues.

Your battery could have lost the ability to hold a charge. If you take it to Autozone they have a machine that can test it.

I would put money on the alternator. Check all of your grounds, clean them with a wire brush and apply di-electric grease to them. Worked for me. Also check the tension on your alternator belt as well. Could be a number of things but I'm not sure with your lack of input of symptoms. You can have your alternator checked by the local parts stores as well. Just my
