    E30 Colors in the USA

Was there a thread once that did a good job of documenting colors on US E30s? People were taking pictures of their shock towers to show the names?

For next year's E30 Picnic I was thinking of getting a line going of E30s with as many colors as possible represented. With 240 E30s in one place you would think we could get a good representation of all the colors over the years.

However I don't know if that line of individual colors would be 20 cars long, or 40 cars.

If no thead already exists, can we start one here?

List year and type of E30, and color. Bonus points for posting an image of the paint name on the shock tower.

There is such a thread, and it's not too easy to find in a search. I remember seeing it on E30tech too, but the problem both threads had on both sites is that the images had to be rehosted because most of them were dead links. I say if it were to be done again, the pictures should be uploaded onto R3V's server so that they aren't gone in a year.

e30tech had that thread, but the members who made it are gone away and the links are all dead.

I'll help out w/ making a new one, but I have no idea how to decipher availability in certain markets.

Looking at that thread in hindsight, the best way is to take a picture of the strut tower decal, but also a full picture of the car, to see the color. At least for some of the rare colors we rarely see.

I was the only glescherblau metallic car for like 3 years at the picnic, naturally after I move to a different state is when it might get some recognition :p

I noticed this year another one showed up though, so ah well. my claim to fame :p

Maybe we should just start a new thread with all of the colors and someone host them right from R3V so that wont go dead. Id like to see a thread like this because Im in the process of getting mine done now and I need to chose a color..

Well, post #128 in the earlier thread I realize are color cards for the whole BMW line for each year, not just E30. It's a starting point though.

We've got 11-1/2 months before the next Picnic, so there's time.
