Need For Speed: Underground - OWNS!!!

    Wow.

That's about all I can really get out. This has got to be one of if not the best racing games I have ever played. The drift-mode alone is worth every penny I paid for it. In the circuit and drag modes, the sense of speed is incredible, and the physics of the cars are awesome. This game takes tuning and customizing of cars to a level that Gran Turismo could never lay a finger on. The body kits, the wheels, and the nearly endless supply of graphics kits and customizing options make this a game that will keep you glued to the couch for hours. It's also got a kick ass soundtrack, with everything from metal to punk to rap and hip hop. Seriously, if you don't own this game yet, there has got to be something wrong. If you can't afford to buy it, go rent it. And if you can't afford to rent, cash in the cans and go check the couch cushions, dammit!

Do you realize how bold of a statement this is?

Say what? If you're going to make pointless statements, at least try to relate them to something...

I'm not terribly far into it yet, I've only just gotten past the first tournament. I've mainly been playing with the drift mode! I'm currently starting out with the VW GTi. What car are you running?

Yes, I do. While Gran Turismo is undeniably the best driving simulation there is, this game is worlds more fun. Not to mention music I would actually play in my car while driving, not Lenny Kravitz and Motley Crue. Gran Turismo was designed to cater to the simulation of real world driving, whereas NFS:U was designed toward the speed, style and mentality of the import scene.

I agree 100% about the drifting Mr. Anderson. IT IS F****ING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! My friends and I were at his computer yesterday with it for hours.

I havn't played the racing yet, but to say it beats GT3 is a damn bold statement. The drifting, however, is bar-none the best there is for a video game.

My highest points for one drift so far is 38,000. :)

I'm actually going over to my friends house a little later to play more DRIFT.

It comes on XBox, PS2, Gamecube, and PC.

I've beaten the single player, 112 of 111 races completed. I've unlocked every car and upgrade.

I would not go so far to say that this game beats GT3 for tuning, because it doesn't. You dont get to tune your car in this game, just install upgrades. In GT3 you have full control over every major tunable setting on the car.

Yes being able to mix and match bodykit parts is great, makes for alot more fun.

Here are the cars I play with, all of which I widebodied :)

Oh, and my highest Drift mode score is 62,3xx in one drift, total time drifting 24 seconds :)

Saying that this game has more "tuning" possibilities than games such as GT3, F355 Challenge, etc is just false. You can slap on body kits & other riceboy parts, but nowhere in there did I see the ability to adjust camber, toe, shock bound & rebound, sway bar stiffness, brake proportioning, downforce levels, etc. That is "tuning".

Although, to a riceboy, I guess I can see slapping on a phallic wing to be considred "tuning".

Do I spy OZ Superleggeras on the R34 Skyline? ;) That game looks like it is going to be the next one I buy. Anyone know when GT4 comes out?

Ok, ok. So it's not more tuneable than Gran Turismo. It's still more fun... :D

BTW Jordan, that Skyline looks like ASS. The rest of them are cool.

I have 20" OZ Superleggeras on the R34 Skyline. Say what you want about the widebody kit Josh, but I own just about everyone online. The car has such a wide track it just destroys corners at near top speed. The only people that can keep pace with my Skyline are other similarly equiped ones.
