seat install questions can you help?

Ok heres the deal. The frame inside the drivers seat on my cabrio broke on both sides. I can not find a replacement seat to swap into the car for under $300 and right now i just don't have the cash. Since they are cabrio specific and black leather recaro style sport seats that are also heated they seem to be quite tough to find at all. I do however have another option, I found a nice set of vader black leather seats out of an e36 M3 that are quite nice and the guys only asking $100 for the pair. I'd like to know if they would just bolt in or if I would have to fabricate a new bracket in order to mount them? From the pics I saw of them they look like they might be a little wider at the bottom part of the seat, so would they even fit at all? Would this be a waste of my time or is it going to be worth the effort? Any info would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,

You have recaros? And want to swap them out? just find another bracket, forget trying a whole new seat.

            +2 I totally agree

I don't plan on getting rid of the seats at all esp since they seem to be a pretty rare item to find being that their heated. But I do need something in there so I can keep driving the car untill the recaro's are fixed. I already priced out the job at one place and they quoted me $750 for both front seats if done in vinyl and $1,250 for both if done over in leather. Needless to say picking up these seats seems to be the cheapest way out till the others are done (since that may take a while). I just wanted to know if the vaders would be a drop in fit really. So it looks like a bracket will be made up soon i guess. Thanks for the help anyways.

if you mean they broke on the bottom bracket, like under the seat base. the seat bases interchange sport seat or comfort. if you mean the seat back has 'broken' from the bottom part, take the back cover off the seat back and there are screws that fall out that attach it to the base.

Well it's kind of hard to discribe just where it broke to be truthfull. But I will try to discribe it anyway. If your sitting in the seat you've got side bolsters on both sides of the top half and on the bottom half of the seat. What broke is actually the internal frame of the side bolsters on the bottom half of the seat. If that makes any sense at all. So basicly the seat folds back now even though the seat is in the locked position and it doesn't fold at the normal pivioting hinge point. I'll try to take a pic in the morning so you can see just what I mean and I'll repost then.
