    Installed 19lbers and Mark D

Holy shit. Throttle response is now through the roof, not to mention that I came from a 153, so it idles smoothly and runs smoothly. It definitely pulls harder now, but what I noticed more was the snarl/scream it picks up around 5 grand. It absolutely howls. I still get a CEL when I let it idle for awhile that goes away when I rev it. Not sure what that's about.

Regarding the injectors, jesus that was a pain in the ass, took me about 2 hours. A tip if anyone else is trying this, do not follow the pelicanparts injector cleaning/removal writeup verbatim; it is impossible. For reinstallation I had to put the fuel rail in first, then fit the injectors into the intake mani, then fit the fuel rail onto the injectors. Motor oil on the o-rings is definitely a good call though.

This has been said many times before, but this mod cannot be praised enough. It totally transforms the car.

Are you referring to the 2.7l engine?

Nah, the B25. Pulls pretty hard to 6.5k then backs off a bit. So far after the chip I've gone to 7k once or twice but I wouldn't on a normal basis. The intake sound turns from induction to valvetrain noise after 6.5k, which is kind of cool and all but I fear for my rocker arms.

Still wondering about idling throwing a CEL. I need to smog the car very soon, and I hope it won't arise, it would suck to fail smog just because of that.

Edit: also, who the fuck thought up those ECU securing bolts? I'm going to wind up using some goddamn zipties to hold the ECU in, I gave up on the bolts.

You won't be disappointed. It's like a complete transformation--second and third gear seem to pin me back in my seat now (first only lasts a few seconds), and it keeps pulling pretty well even in 4th and 5th--kept pulling on the highway up to 115+ where I let off. The car is a complete beast compared to before.

Now I just need some headers and a schrick 288 to top it off... ;)

you know i'm surprised you got such a noticeable difference, i got 22#ford new design injectors and the tms chip on my 85 eta and didn't really notice a crazy difference like you explain...hmm.

Haha. The plan so far is to keep this one NA M20, then later get a plastic bumper coupe in good condition and do a DOHC swap on that one. I doubt boost is in my future.

                        Well

                        I'm coming from a 153

A 153 that was about to take a shit

The car pulled decently before but now I can consider it quick. Plus, the newfound howl of that little motor won me over instantly.

yeah going from an eta to an i motor was like night and day difference. I can def see a diff in that Wh33l is doing over trying to do that with and eta and not seeing much increase in the eta. Hmmmm need to put this on my parts "TODO" list...

P.S. yeah i also just passed smog with my 325eis with the CEL flashing and the guys were like what ever... let it warm up for 10 minutes and it will be fine. Turns out I needed a damn gas cap, but it passed!

Haha. Well technically it should make a bigger difference in the eta, but you really don't get the same top end wail with the eta that you do with the B25. So overall the motor is not as impressive.

Or that's my theory at least. ;) If you are assertive in the least there is a biiig difference. I'm not sure if it was increased response or more actual torque (probably both), but I noticed a big improvement in the low-midrange as well. The car is much more drivable as 2-3k range acceleration is a lot more effortless than it was before.

I just went out for another drive, that car put a smile on my face before but now it's a shit-eating grin. :D
