    Mtech2 Coupe or E30 M3 or Mtech1 Coupe???

Usually I know what I want and can give a rat's @ss about what others think but this one has me on the fence and look to the community for input.

Question is would you rather have Mtech2 coupe or Mtech1 coupe or e30 M3?

This is based on if you already had a pristine unmolested e30 M3 already. Also based on the fact that an s50 drivetrain/suspension/wheels will go on either the mtech2 or m3 but NOT the mtech1. I'm sort of funny like that in the fact that the mtech1 is older and should have an older drivetrain in it that is more period correct(maybe stroker m20).

M3, but if its gonna get swapped I'll get the Mtech2 and molest the hell out of it. I would never get rid of the S14 because it just doesn't seem right to me.

wait... so you wouldn't destroy a normal e30 on purists' reasoning but you'd remove the soul of an M3? The greatest M3 made so far, according to the automotive journalists as a whole?

i saw mt2 coupe......but im a little bias ;) perfect chassis for the 24v swap

m3's are meant to be left alone! the s14 is what makes the m3 great!

If you read my post, I already have a pristine unmolested e30 M3. No sense in having 2 same m3 imo and since the second e30 M3 would be a battered chassis to start with, it would be a perfect candidate for the swapped/track car.

I don't exactly feel like tracking a s14 unless I had some funds saved up to do a 2.5 rebuild as insurance in which case, a battered and swapped e30 M3 would cost the same with more hp. ;)

          BTW, I never said I was a purist. ;)

              Mtech2

Getting another m3 would be great but something different will be better, if i made any sense.

This is sort of the same thinking I'm having.

Just get the Mtech2. You'll have two cars with different mods to drive and play with.

you're going to be using it as a track car? why not just get a beater 325.

I would get the mtech 2 and restore it while doing the 24v swap. It'll be very different from the m3 and give you just as much fun.

It's funny how I'm seeing most people on here opting for the M3 because most probably don't have one even though my post said if you already had an M3...

The opposite is true on s14.net where more people are saying Mtech2. lol

People always want what they don't have...

personally I have always loved the mt2 look. plus if you already have a pristine m3 there is no need for another one. get an mt2 coupe and swap an s52 or s38 into it

I was in the same boat as you. I had the opportunity to purchase a near perfect all original M3 (needed a new fender) for $7k. After thinking it over I decided i'd rather have something i would not mine destroying. There are enough M3 track rats. If i had the space i would have bought both and not have spent so much on my 325is. But i was not willing to part with my VW or motorcycle at the time.
