    Newb....to this site. IOWA.

    Hey---
Whats up---I was searching for E30 sites, and stumbled across this one. I can't seem to leave damn it! And it's 3:36, I have a shit load of homework--looks like an all-niter, or my TA can just kiss my ass. Anyway...

    I Just picked up a 318iS, 2 door, 5 speed, red/buckskin, has gold BMW-Mesh-BBS-Lookin wheels + Mesh Spare....

2 Questions/statements....The front valance cracked, under pass. foglight and was crudely repaired w/ nuts and bolts. (Looks stupid) I was going to fiberglass it, but decided to just get a new one....a new valance....I am going to experiment, and I think I have a pretty good idea of what valance I'm going to use (Not a BMW !) I'll Post pics when I'm done, but according to measurements...should line up nice, and look pretty sick.

ANYWAY---This car, according to Allen @ Bavarian is extremely rare---Red w/ gold pin stripe down the side, and the ultra rare Gold BMW Mesh/BBS wheels. He said the wheels are worth from $600-$800, easy.

Does this sound realistic? Are they that rare?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to posting more on here....this site has been by far, the most imformative and well-designed forum I have been to. I have had over 30 cars, and usually join the according forums....I have been a DSMer for about 5 years now (11.44 this season :).

P.S. I came here w/ front valance issues/questions, and got plenty of answers. Seems to be the major topic of discussion over here!

    Alright, time for homework.
    Later guys!

    First, Welcome

Second, I've seen >3 valences for sale in the last couple months, Check the FS/WTB forum

Third, no idea why your mechanic said your car was that rare. Pinstriping was an option at the dealership, and your basketweaves were probably just painted gold when the car was pin-striped. Unless I missed something.
My mountains are better than yours.

        Hi Troy, and welcome.
I was gonna ask how your e30 does in heavy snow, then I realised that it is kinda early to have heavy snow and you just got it, right?
Hope you enjoy the forum as much as I have so far, and get much useful info.
Some of these people are kinda nuts, but that only makes it better.
We even have a chick (or three) on board!

Ha! a chic. We three are women Lukey! Wait... I think i called myself a chick in my sig. Hmm...lol... okay then. I am wrong. you are forgiven.

ANYWAY! Welcome to r3v. It is a good group of guys. Just try not to piss anyone off, even though you might get squashed a few times yourself. AND don't post any pics of your car unless you can handle criticism, constructive or non-constructive. Everyone here has an opinion. That's okay, you just need to make sure that yours is the only one that matters!

LUKE, if you wanted to know about heavy snow, you should have asked me. I have had 2 winters with mine in DC, and we have had a couple bad storms each time around. My car SUCKED each and every time. Well. I probably was the one doing the sucking. I have learned a few pointers from my mechanic and here, I am anxious to try them out come the first snowfall.

          :)

                  Ha.
Thx for the welcomes. Most forums have their share of the 'comedians', I'm usually one of them...

I dont have any problem posting pics of my car....I think I'll be able to take the criticism. It's pretty nice anyway.

I am my own mechanic, "allen" is just a sales rep. @ Bavarian that was asking about my car. At any rate, the wheels will be for sale shortly....

                  Any other fellow Iowans---or close??

I do, I'm a 5th year super senior. You should stop in Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits in Coralville and say what's up---

And you haven't asked the Canadians? A car is as good as its tires, driveline layout, and diff, everything else is pretty much equal. And with good winter rubber, RWD, and LSD, I've yet to get stuck or have any trouble with control.
