Then there are two nipples, one on the top of the wastegate, the other on the side, I dont know where each one goes.

Thanks for helpingme out, I am almost done with my turbo motor, but this is confusiing me, I bought it off ebay for 20 bucks, and have no Idea the brand, or anything just that it is rated 8-12 psi.

I don't know much about external ones either, so I'm kind of at a loss for words here.

hook up vac line to the bottom port, leave top port open unless using a boost controller, bottom flange goes to manifold.

I understand how a turbo system works, not how an unlabeled wastegate works. This is not the first time I have worked on turbo'd cars. but thanks for the positive input.

I think the wastegate is fubar. The piston on the bottom is not moving, even when I try to push it with my hands, can anyone confirm this?

it may just have a really stiff spring. or it is in fact a paperweight.

I have a Synapse WG002 which handles alot higher boost than that, and I can push it in with my hand. It's a paperweight.
