I'm looking at buying this E28. I don't know if it's a 535i or a 535iS. It has the rear spoiler and power adjustable sport seats, and I think the front spoiler? Here's some pics; maybe you can help!

Yes that is a 535is or at least a very well converted 535i. Looks nice. Also, I don't believe they offered the 535is in Schwarz, only Diamonschwarz.

I feel bad for you Yankees. Having to worry about rust all the time would depress me. There was a beautiful 90 325is for sale here a while back. Original paint, three or four little door dings, flawless dash, 114k miles, needed a carpet, 3000 bucks.
The downside to living down here is that it's been over 100 degrees for almost two weeks.
It's a rust box and it has been painted not in a good way. Stay away.
You're right; it is a rust box. Unfortunately, I am on a majorly low budget of $1,500 and it's in better shape than the E30 I just sold, if you can believe it. Everything on it works except it will need all new rotors/pads and a valve adjustment. The interior is very clean, and if worse comes to worst I can part it out and make my money back.
