im looking for a certain m42 performance write up

...regarding the certain mods you can do to get the most out of your m42...if i remember correctly there was stuff mentioned about advancing your timing, stuff about chips and CAI's and whatnot...it was a really good writeup, i just need some reference off of it...

    thanks

Best mod for an M42? Tear it out and put something with 6 cylinders in ;)

You can get a little more power with a lighter flywheel, advance the intake timing, and a Mark D chip, but other then that you either need to stroke the motor, or/and turbo/supercharge it to get any real power.

The M42 is made for economy, nothing more...

/takes a seat while all the M42 purists come in here and throw rocks at me!

A lot of the information in that article is out of date.

Op, I think this is a sign from god to buy Danny's turbo setup? Just a hunch :D

But m42club.com, and the tech section here. It's not all that outdated compared to our cars. All of those mods still work, no complaints.

m24club is probably your bets bet... I've learned tons from there. Mine dyno'd 136 to the rear wheels on a mustang dyno. Not great, but not bad either... it's a fun car to drive while getting 25+ mpg city.
