    When do you shift?

    I was driving around today and wondered when does everyone else change gears?

    Here are my points

    91 318is with 3.75lsd

    1st 3500
    2nd 3500 to 4000 but sometime 6500 ;)
    3rd 3000
    4th 3000 unless getting on the highway then 5000
    5th cruise around 2500 to 4000 depending on speed

    get around 29mpg combined

              I didn't know 318's could accelerate befor 3500
              that's probably not that good for your car I try not to ever be doing less than 2k .

                Its all good, mine looks like that too ;) haha. But I have the eta in my 86 325es so it doesnt rev very high to start with.

                      I try to do it around 3k but it gets REALLY loud if i go over 3500, Hmmm i think i will change my shifting habits

                        Daily driving my E, i barely every get over 2000rpm, on a high way at 80 I'm at 2500-2600.

                          3k with my 91 318i.. trying to stay away from the redline because when I redline it screams like a little biatch lol...
