Sport seat chairs

Anyone try to make a chair out of a sport seat, kinda like the ones that Top Gear has?

Yes a few have, Recaro makes off chairs that are sports seats on a standard base. They are about 900 dollars these days.

I made a desk chair out of one. What I did was take a cheap swivel base from an Ikea office chair that I picked up for $5, then just used some odell clamps to mount the base to the seat. My intention was to actually make a base plate and bolt it to the existing mounts on the seat frame, but never got around to it. I'd get a stronger chair frame to begin with if I was to do another but for a little time and a total of $20 (including seat) it's great!
