    Machining wants....

A friend of mine is looking to branch out his machine shop services and asked me to find out what kind of stuff you guys would want made. He is currently making turbo accessories for 10 sec mopars (omni's spirits etc). He can make anything (except women or guys....) but you'd have to give me some sort of drawing or something along those lines. I'm making a set of spacers next week, then I think I'm going to try to make brackets for the corrado brake upgrade:D Let me know

I recently put a temp switch into my coolant line coming from the radiator. The temp switch used 1/2NPT thread, which is a big-ass thing. No one seems to make an inline hose adapter that will fit 1/2NPT in any size near our hose. Since no one seems to make it, there might be some money in selling such a widget.

          As far as I know H&R makes a 4x100 to 5X130 adapter but not a 4x100 to 5x120.

4x100 to 5x120 needs to be 2 pieces, there is too much overlap between bolt holes otherwise. Thinnest 2 piece adapters I've seen were either 35 or 38mm. Which means E36 fitment wheels become 0 offset and 5 series wheels poke like whoa

Aluminum replacement for the fan clutch. just a single part with no clutch... that things always fails and it's $70 to replace. Granted you can drill holes and put screws in, but, it's still heavy as hell. Make it for $30 and i'll buy it.

anything but this. Who but you is gonna pay $30 for something that you stated can be accomplished with about 3 minutes and some sheet metal screws and no money out of pocket. Not to mention the annoying wooshing noise and possible added parasitic losses?

3 minutes will get you a hack job. I'm looking for something put together properly that won't fly apart. I'll live with the parasitic losses, however, a light-weight fan will have less losses than the hacked clutch.

I suppose an electric fan would be the ultimate upgrade, but I'm looking for a permanent and cheap replacement to a part that fails commonly on these old cars.

How about a bracket to mount the 4 pot "monoblock" Brembo calipers using the Audi TT rotors, like 300mm.de? They do it with E32 calipers IIRC, so using the Brembos makes it not stealing...

I feel privledged that my thread was the recipient of your 10,000th post. I'll do some searching and try to find some good pics of that and get them to Mike (machinist). As far as spacers go, I'll see what we can make next week and I'll get back to you w/ a price etc. As far as an aluminum fan (I think thats what you're asking for?) thats goin to be HEAVY. Just go electric and be done w/ it.
