How rare are 325is'?

I was just wondering, how often does one come upon a nice e30 325is? Those of you that own them, did it take quite a bit of looking before you found one?
The reason I ask is, I found a pretty nice 87 325is for sale in my general vacinity BUT, my license is suspended until January. Should I snap this baby up before she is gone or wait until january, save up a bit more $ and try and find one then?

they are relatively common, but good condition ones are harder to find. If you've got the cash and know you want a 325is, i'd say buy it a clean/fix it up until jan.

if you are suspended, wait till January. More money usually = nicer car.

I'm suspended till Dec. 12th, but I'm just going to save through the winter until the spring, so I can get a really nice E30.

What's wrong with an 87? I wouldn't mind one. Besides the aluminum bumpers, they are just fine. Besides, they have the smaller tail lights.

Whichever way you look at it, both the earlier and later model 325iS's are nice cars but like the others have said, I'd also wait until I could get one just right. I waited quite a while to find my 318iS and I'm quite happy I did as it's a great machine!

I found my 89 325 is about three months ago. I gave $1100.00 for it. It has some minor body damage like dents and dings, solid body, no rust, or sign of major repairs, and the front lip missing. The car was intact, mechanically sound, runs fine, no smoke, although is leaking some oil through the front and rear seal. It had been owned by married couple with young children who drove it 190,000 miles and traded it in on a new model bmw.

Dealerships dont like to carry inventory over 5 years old, so it went to auction. A used car dealer I know was aware I was looking for a 325is. She called the nearest bmw dealership and asked where disposed of their trade-ins. Via cell phone, she got it for me for $200.00 over auction price.

I'm happy.
