Gold bbs basketweaves vs bmw stamped silver weaves?

I have 2 sets of basketweaves, one set is gold stamped BBS made in germany. The other set is a silver set stamped BMW Made in germany?

They are both 6 1/2 x 14 and look exactly the same apart from the color.

Whats the story behind this? Which cars got gold colored weaves?

That's a good question, I have a mix of BBS and BMW weaves which are the originals from my parts car, it's kinda weird. All Silver.

I believe it was an option. I've seen some stock white weaves and some gold weaves before.

If I recall correctly not all BMW weaves are true BBS. I believe BMW outsourced some of their BBS style wheels from another company. Fulda??

so wouldn't that make the bbs version more desirable considering they are the original makers/designers of said rims? I cant beleive this hasn't been addressed before.
