I will agree 17 CAN look good on a e30 but that car needs to setup for them. I have 17's in the back on my car and they didnt look good until i dropped it.

Thank you spooledtt, that helps me out alot, but i found a really good deal on some rims that i think im going to pick up tonight, i will throw them on but if they look like that they will sit in my garage until i can find the right lowering kit for my car.

Well after all of the suggestions i couldnt do it, i backed out of the deal and am now looking to replace my bottlecaps with one of my friends basketweaves that he uses as his winter rims.

trust us... suspension first. H&R Sports/Bilstein Sports, as well as new strut tower reinforcements for the back, will do you well for not much money. You can find used springs on Ebay, and a set of 4 bilsteins for around 350 on Ebay/Turner Motorsports/BavAuto. There's options to go lower, but Sports are a good place to start on the cheap.

also, check the F/S threads here, and VW Vortex after you learn what fitment will work for you.

Like everyone said, suspension then wheels.

But you have to do at least 17 x 8s or you're a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles.

                        17's + Stock Suspension = MONSTER TRUCK!

Great for Sunday, Sunday, Sunday when you're crushing 80's American steel down at the fairgrounds, but maybe not the trick for an e30 on the highway.

                          this is for true.

In specific regard to 17s – don’t. just don’t. Unless you’re dropping it to the frame rail$, performing a 24v $wap, and installing HUGE brake rotor$ and caliper$ - you’re gonna look like a chump on wagon wheels.

16s ‘push it’ with stock brakes. 15s are A) more affordable B) ride smoother C) don’t dwarf the brakes D) facilitate more affordable tires, and E) make for a great ‘stage one’ upgrade.

euroweaves and BBS RAs make for great starter wheels. You’re just not gonna go wrong – and if you decide to switch up later – you’ll get your money back on them..

Just wondering, what is the reason for suspension before rims?
