Went down to Waterfest today with a friend. Great weather, great cars. Really glad i went.
Highlights:
-saw too many sets of BBS wheels. confirmed my preference of never owning a set, regardless of how nice they are.
-shaved engine bays are cool, i don't care what anyone says. expect one from me soon
-some girls should not wear short shorts, or shirts that show their bellies. there was a reason i wasn't shirtless today, i would expect the same refrain from you chunkers.
-vw's have cooler interiors than e30's
-swap meet was a joke. i came with 800 cash expecting to find a set of 4x100 wheels. it was nothing more than part-out parts. oh, well, it was good for vw owners i guess, so can't complain.
-drags and dyno was fun to watch
-spectator lots were just as entertaining as the show lots. lots of nice cars there
-6.50 for a burger that tasted like leftover rubber from the burnout contest. note to self: bring snacks next year
-first and only scirocco in the US was there. nice looking ride for sure
-best/funniest euro plate: RU 18 YET
-all motor VR6's sound badass
It's funny, you go to a show like this, and it's seriously like a freakin cookie cutter VW meet. Even us E30 guys have this unwritten rule/list of what the car should have, what it should look like, what wheels it should have. fuck following trends man. the only cars i remember were the oddballs.
Ran into Mikeday and his E30 pickup. Good to meet you man! His car was at a bottle neck area, so it got lots of attention, and everyone that parked in the spectator lot walked right by it. cool shit, looking forward to seeing future work on it.
In no particular order:

These were 20's

Love the S4 wheels on this one

The vette wheels on this one looked great too

WTF?!
