My e30s not driving like one?

Well, im trying to find the problem, i bought my car recently but the driving just isnt up to par. However, i KNOW its because something needs to be replaced. I just dont know what.

So heres where my fellow Rev experts come in, this is how it feels to drive my car:I take a normal turn and it feels like as if i have to turn the steering wheel WAY to much for it to make the turn. Even when its small.

Second, it pulls alot to the left, i have to drive with the steering wheel slanted to the right

Third, my steering wheels has a lot of left and right leeway before the car actually starts turning. So I can drive straight and wiggle it without a nudge from the car.

The last and SCARIEST of them all, i go over ANY bump and my car sounds like if i went over a speed bump at 40mph. The steering wheel vibrates widly from left to right and from what i think is caused by the wheels widly shaking from left to right. So when i drive i have to hold the steering wheel nice and tight because if not then a bump will send me flying into a tree.

Thanks for da help guys, any is appreciated

    Two options.

    1. Get a Bentley and with someone you know who knows cars - have them put the car up on jackstands, or preferably a rack, and check every part of the fron suspension.

    2. Take the car to an Independent shop that specializes in BMWs.

Either route, you want the entire front end gone over. Your symptoms, until seen in person could be worn tie rods, a bad steering rack, worn ball joints on the control arms, a cracked subframe, worn control arm bushings, bad sway bar links, blown shocks or shock mounts or most likely, some combination of any or all of the above.

Wow....Thats a lot of possibilities.. Do you know an estimate of how much would it cost me to re-do the whole front end? Is it worth pulling the extra buck and paying for performance parts that wont cost me to much over OEM?

could be $$ expensive just getting all those items replaced oem and or aftermarket.

make a decision once a shop can find out whats wrong.

            What?

..I'll go to a shop and let you guys know, im leaning toward the idea that my front shocks and springs are shot because of the bounce.. Could that be the whole problem? Or do the control arms contribute to the poor steering? What role do the bearings play?

EDIT: Are there any recommendations for after market parts that make a big difference in performance to buy instead of going straight to oem?

            Thanks

if you gotta replace the control arms: get lemfoerders. nothing else. control arm bushings could be urethane/poly and either m3 cabs or regular

if its springs/shocks, then do h&r sport/cup springs & bilstein sport shocks or something similar

                  BavAuto ~ Bilstein ~ BBS ~ Scorpion ~ MarkD ~ Prolumen

Get a competent person to look at it. But my guess would be control arm and or bushings and or shoks, springs.
