I try to keep all receipts and service records for all my cars. When I sold my Evo VIII, I handed the new owner a binder full of records since the day I took delivery...and he didn't even look at it. Lol. I guess not everyone is as anal as we are.

The only car I've gotten sloppy about the maintenance history is my E30. It's my track car and I service it so frequently that I stopped trying to keep track of it. During the summer track season, I'm working on the car (or having the car worked on) literally every week. I couldn't be bothered to keep records after a while.

My car came with a folder full of maintenance records, I plan to add to it.

I used to keep a log of everythign I did. Then my Odo stopped, and so did I.

            I have one...

Mine is a spiral-bound notebook that I keep in my glovebox. I try to log everything I do. Helps me keep myself from replacing my spark plugs twice a year, lol. Well, I am not THAT bad. But it did get me a free bad battery replacement when I couldn't find my receipt (I logged it!!).

Like Nando says though, I just do stuff as it needs it, usually. I just like having it there in case I get lost remembering what I have done. Plus, it's neat to show people and to reflect back on the bigger jobs I've done on the car.

I can't tell you how many friends I have tried to help diagnose a problem on their car and they have NO IDEA when anything was ever touched or replaced. This kind of thing helps in cases like that.

I keep a folder with all my invoices for all my cars. Not really logging it, but going through all receipts, I can see what I've spent and what I've done.

I do, detailed even down to gas fillups. Got in the habit from my parents, no point in changing. Mods and maintenance I keep track of as well, and have a separate section for events.

                So....yes, I have detailed logs.
