Help! can you help run this VIN??

Hi,

I'm looking to buy an 86 325 in my area and was wondering if someone could help run a VIN for me. The car seems a bit sketchy! I was going to buy it and the guy told me it had a Mass open title. I went to try and buy the car but the title wasn't an open title someone else had signed the back. What should I do? how can the car be registered in Mass? Could I just use the bill of sale?
