an alarm, keyless ignition, push start, and other stuff all in one
okay guys here it goes..
I've recently installed a K9 alarm in my car and it has a few cool features like light delay and such.
I got to toying with it and thinking about what luke told me (do not install starter interupt) and that had me thinkin about a remote ignition. now, I thought about everything thats required including the steering lock and came up with this:
RELAYS, use them. using the starter interupt input from the alarm, whenever the car is unlocked it will trigger the relays and "on" goes the ignition and accessories. or for those of you like me that have pager alarms, we can program the aux button thus giving us the option to unlock the car without having the ignition on.. so, how do we start it? 2 different approches or both.
1 would be to have a pushbutton start. good shit right? we all want this.
2 would be remote start, but risky for us 5speed'rs or a combination of the 2..
for te steering lock, have a spare key made, cut the grip or head of it off and weld a plastic/metal cap that will cover the key hole in the ignition. stick it in the ignition and turn it to the unlock position and leave it there. from the outside looking in its invisible or hard to tell theres a key in there. this eliminates the need to remove the wheel lock and gives you the option to re-engage it for that added security in certain places. this will not turn on the ignition however in any way wich leads me to the rest of my idea.
now, i know what most of you are thinkin.. Total loss of security right? well, my alarm also has this "range" feature... its pretty bad ass. whenever i get into close range of my car it automaticly unlocks. whenever i step a few yards away, it locks. Awesome right, but thats not it. It also serves as an anti car jack feature. when the car is running and the remote is no longer near the car, it can be programed to shut off the car, lock the doors, flash the lights, and set off the alarm.
heres what I plan to do with your help.
Install the "funny key"
install the push start
wire it all up to the alarms aux and starter interupt
and program it to do the following
1 unlock when near and turn on ignition and accs.
2 lock and turn off ignition and accs. when I hit the lock button or am away from the car for more that 30 sec.
pretty bad ass or am I missing some things?
later I plan to buy the window controlls so it will vent the windows when the car gets above 105F and roll up the windows when I lock it and stuff...
discuss and share ideas guys.. Thanks for reading.
