Half-Life 2....

With this amazing game coming out tomorrow (11/16) I figured I would start a thread. This thread will be all about Half-Life 2. How it plays, how it looks, what setups you have and how it runs on what settings. Overall impressions, and until it comes out in 6 hours....expectations.

I think this game is going to be ridiculous. I haven't compared it to Halo 2 or Doom 3 graphically, but it looks gorgeous as of the last time I saw it. I hope the story and controls are tight, and I hope it is as visually stunning as it looks.

Though I've preordered the game, I'm not hyped up about the release. The damn game has been delayed several times. Thank God it's finally being released, and it will be a fun game to play, but thats about it.

I'm pretty sure my computer won't have a lot of trouble playing it.

i'm going to wait til i finish my new computer to play HL2, i'd be afraid to let my little GeForce 4 Ti 4400 take it on.

I've been staring at my parts waiting for DDR2 prices and Video car prices drop. Anyone interested in buying my koolance watercooled case along with the waterblock? I might upgrade to the all aluminum koolance case.

Here is what i'm hoping my computer will turn out to be:
-Intel D915PBL mobo (already bought)
-Intel P4 550 3.4 Ghz 1 MB L2 cache (already bought)
-1 GB DDR2 533Mhz
-Radion X700SE or X800XT if i've got spare money

here are my specs, the game is running on all max settings at 1024X768

hinix 512 ddr 3200
80 gig segate
asus a7n8x-e
mag 17inch flat screen
ati 9600xt

i get around 40-50 fps with vert sync on...for some reason this game doesn't depend on the vc so much i can play with my settings with a minimal fps drop and no lag what so ever!

planning on going to a gig of ram dual channel ram and overclock my cpu :D

By far the best FPS I have ever played. In fact, It might be the best game I have ever played. The graphics are amazing. You can interact with just about everything in the enviornment around you. What a great game.

I just beat Half-life 2 and I have to say they have the best story line. The phyics in the game are great and the dune buggy with the turbo is so much fun to drive. I'm out to play CS source.

i also just beat it. by far the best game i have ever played. the story kicks ass.
