Would you convert to crank windows for 30 bucks?

I am making some adapters for my car to convert the power windows to manual.

This fits 84-4/88 cars and maybe later ones, I'd have to check.

Just seeing if there is any interest. You'd have to buy handles.

I'm not even sure if you guys like crank windows or not... I do.

They're neat, but for anyone with 2+ doors it's a PITA if you want to vent the cabin and even more of a PITA should it start to rain after venting the cabin.

Sounds like a decent idea for the price of it.

Yes, you lose the weight of the motor, and the gear and add the weight of the adapter and crank, both light. I'll make 2 and post pics of the finished product.

            Lol, true.

But they also are a more complex system. Simple usually = lightness and longevity.

I'm not sure how often window motors on these cars fail.

It would look something like this. I used a cheap summit racing universal handle but any 3/8" square handle would work.

Not much. maybe 5 lbs tops. BMW early E30 manual windows are probably lighter, but more expensive.

It's less about weight and more about simplicity.

I'm not trying to make any money here, just offering the idea up.

As for me, i probably wouldn't do it for $30, because first of all i don't have $30, and 5 lbs weight savings isn't worth the hassle of leaning way over the passenger seat to crank up the passenger window when that torrential downpour suddenly erupts.

If i wanted to shave 5 lbs off my E30 i would take a shit before getting in the car or something like that.

I probably wouldn't want manual windows on a daily driver.

I wasn't even going to put side windows in the car, but decided to for theft prevention.

Side note: It must really suck to not have 30 dollars. LOL.
