450 mile drive home ends with smoke comming from my 325E!!

Well, I got to Sacramento from Santa Barbara, and I was stopped at a light. I see smoke comming from under my car and I open the door to a huge cloud of rubber/oil burning smelling smoke.
I decide to keep driving to my gf's house about 2 miles up the road, and I park it to see whats going on. Looks like a lot of residual oil and grease from the front subframe had been slung off onto the exhaust and was smoking pretty good. I washed it all off and it seemed to go away. I will pressure wash it again today and make sure its all clean.
guess the long drive at fairly high speed (75-90mph for 6 hours) got this stuff moving.
car doesn't leak any oil, or burn any for that matter, so I just need to finish getting everything sparkling clean.

    anyone have this happen before?

Yesterday the hose to my heater exploded, it made so much smoke/steam, it looked fake.

no, i looked at it closer and its just old grease I have been trying to get washed out, but it must have been loosened up a bit... its fine now, no more smoke...

a few months ago I has the same problem, I was on highway driving on a fairly 85mph
and there was no other car so i cranked up to an 115mph for a long time, and when I stop on the end of the interchange I smell burned oil in the cockpit, I stopped near a small road and opened the hood and see that the old grease on the engine was dripping on my exhaust, the day after i've watersteamed my engine and the problem was solved, I've no oil leak and the engine is still clean now
so I think there is no need for panic :)
