Does AC Schnitzer make a performance chip for the e30? There have been some poppin up on ebay, but I cannot find any info on them around the net. Does anyone know for sure?
You are finding remakes. they are not real , at least not from schnitzer, they are either a small companies reprogramed chip or a copy of the real thing.
Schnitzer, hartge, breyton, and alpina chips are all designed for 272 cam, headers, and mild porting. they used the same chips for 288 cam and higher compression motors. they are not the best chip for stock motors.

Right now i have a Dinan chip on a stock engine and it is okay but i would rather have a JC chip and plan on getting one for the M20B25 thus i am saying go with a Jim C chip as you will be more happy then you would if you get the Dinan.
Run away from E-bay chips, none of them are real. It's sad, the amount of cheap fakes are killing the resale of real used ones.
Check out the MarkD chip, his other applications are getting better reviews compared back to back with the JC. I just got mine last week, it's frickin amazing. He makes them for all ETAs and 173 M20i's, for $179. http://www.dsylva-tech.ca/
Thanks for the info on the MarkD... Do you know if the e30 (173) ecu chip is currently available? On the site it says it should be ready soon, and doesnt have it listed on the pricing page. It could be the page just hasn't been updated in a little while.
Actually yeah, should have mentioned the site is way out of whack.
He has made a few custom 173 chips in the past, mostly for track cars, and we worked together on one for my car. It turned out REALLY good, so the setup that has been tested and run in my car will now be the standard 173 chip. Dyno numbers/charts are coming soon. In spotwatch times I have shaved a repeatable 5-10% seconds off my rolling start runs. In addition, my car used to crawl past 190km/h and take forever to get to 206. Last night I was doing 220 and still accelerating strong when I had to slow for road conditions. 8)
How modified is your engine? Mine is stock, so would this chip still benefit my car, since like you said it was programed specifically for a certain car in mind.
I did email Mark, and am just waiting for a reply.
