Well, I was up at my local dealership chatting with some friends, and I was talking to Eric, he works in the parts and service department, and he mentioned some "big whig BMW guys" were visiting the dealership. It turns out it was the President of BMW NA and about 5 or 6 others all from aroudn the region and the Service president. Well, I started talking to them about going through STEP and job opportunities, and stuff like that. All of them said that most of their mechanics go to UTI, enter into STEP, and start their carreers. Furthermore, we went back into the shop and started talking to the mechanics who went to UTI and STEP themselves, and said that its the best way to go.
I feel MUCH better about my decision to not go to normal college right now and go to UTI. If all works out well I will be going to the Rancho Cucamonga campus and then enter STEP. The guys down at my dealership said that they would love to help me, and think its pretty cool that a local BMW Enthusiast, especially an e30 guy, wants to pursue this goal.
Just thought I would share my day, and I feel a lot better about my future, and where I want to go in life. The past year I have been really confused about what I wanted to do when I "grew up". This is probably one of the cooler things that has happened to me in my life.
