    E30 Glass Moonroof gasket question

Does anyone know if the standard sunroof gasket seal is the same one fas the one used for the glass moonroof? If it is different, do you have a part #?

    Thanks in advance!

The are the same! You have 2 different options in buying the sunroof gasket. They make 1 giant gasket, and they make two gaskets. Get the two gaskets. They cost slightly more combined than the one long one does, but it's VERY hard to put into place when having one long gasket. it's like trying to wrap a rubber band around a football long-ways. With two gaskets, it's very easy to put on correctly and securely.

    Two small gaskets: 54 12 8 106 928
    54 12 1 906 999

    Large Gasket: 54 12 1 903 725

When you instal the gasket for the first time, it may be hard to function the sunroof. Let it bake in the sun all day before installing. It will eventually take the shape of the sunroof. Give it a week or two.

from the factory the moonroof "kit" did not include a gasket. you needed to buy a new standard e30 gasket.
