How to get chemicals off driveway?

    Hey guys,
I'm in the middle of my swap and will be pressure washing my engine bay soon as its got tons of dirt and all sorts of fluids in it that need to go. My dad doesn't want the chemicals to linger in our driveway, so I was wondering if you guys know the best way to get coolant/engine oil/ATF off of a driveway?

    Thanks,
    Joe

Diluted simple green in a bucket with alcohol, and a brush. Some pressure washers have a mixer built in that you could use. but don't use anything harsh(bleach, etc). Hose down after scrubbing.

if it stains the concrete you can use pool acid (muratic) on the oil spots. just work quick and hose it off right away. the acid actually eats the concrete (and the oil stain) so you don't want to leave it there too long.

This works for brick pavers as well I am assuming. I have some oil drips in my driveway from previous owner and want to get rid of them and seal it.

you could try placing cruddy old plywood, blankets, cardboard, etc., under the car to catch the debris and then just throw it away when you're done.

you could use it on brick too, but i would want to seal it after. pavers are not as dense as concrete so it MIGHT be noticable (slightly) depending on how long you have to leave it on to get the job done.

Purple Power works alright on concrete if the oil/fluid hasn't had much time to sit there; if it has sat there for a while, it will stain the concrete from what I've found.

Clean it and then reseal it. I'm doing that this year after another swap is completed.

It was time for a new seal coat on the driveway anyway.

Something that works surprisingly well for oil as well as other liquids is kitty litter. Sucks it right up.

you don't have a very good grasp of chemicals and dillution do you? when you backflush your pool into the gutter there is small amounts of acid in it. if you over fill your car battery and it drips on the ground, then you wash it down the gutter, guess what, acid.
                        oooooohhhhhh acid everywhere!

you would be hard pressed to use a 1/2 gallon of muratic to clean up set in oil stains.

by the time you wash it down off your driveway into the gutter then eventually the sewer, it will be so dilluted that the coolant and oil that washes into the sewer from the roadways (that leaks from cars every day) is more of a threat to the enviroment.
