Hell, while we're in fantasy land..
Let's grab a BMW made McLaren F1 V12 and strap it to an E30....
Actually, on second thought, that would be badass.. If RD can stuff an 850i engine in a 318ti, we sure as hell can do better in an E30.. Hell, those E36 guys are candyasses anyways :P1988 325iC - "Betty" - Daily Driver/Project Car.

Meh, this thread is toast (IBTL). On the serious note its going to take at least a few thousand dollars. Just get it up to 270hp and figure out how to get traction and you are there.
Basically boost and engine swap ar the only real alternatives. Bimmerjim broke 12 seconds on a stock M20 bottom with 14lbs of boost, of course it has a 4" hole in it now.Im now E30less.

what happened to it i know swarts blew his turbo m20 and was selling it....i know this can be done i was just weighing my options like i have been doing for months now...i enjoy the bmw and i know i would enjoy it more if it was on boost but i think it will far more expensive than a s13 with an RB in it....but like rhw11385 said uniqeness is expensive.....JDM no more

go over to www.e30tech.com and they have a huge section for forced induction M20's. Most everyone's setups with stock internals are from $1600-3000 and are going well, you have to know what the hell you are doing. If you dont go pick up the book Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, its awesome. You are obviously not going to be able to pull off an S50 swap for that price range. If you have the money, my vote would go for the S50 due to its tuning capabilities and reliablilty.- 318is 4 life
