    Sunny Problem

'91 325is doesn't start when it's hot outside. It only does it when it's hot outside, and not every day. It starts in the evenings and mornings perfectly, but not during the day.

Starter doesn't turn. Is it starter? I always thought solenoid would quit in cold, but in heat?

My econometer only works on very hot days and the one in my wifes car only works when its cool...........Nothing to do with your problem but who knows.

Maybe you could try to put a sun shade in the windshield and get an idea if it happens when the dash gets hot or when the car itself gets hot....

plop another used starter in there... but something tells me it's not the starter itself. Maybe the wiring/relay etc as I don't believe the immobilizer affects the starter.

that sounds more like an electrical connection problem, but try a different starter and see if that helps.
