Swapping iX parts to an i

I may have a iX lined up for me shortly, however it has a bad tranny (auto) so now i am wondering two things....

How compatible are the parts between the two models? if the tranny thing doesn't work out, I would like to transfer parts to the i, body, suspension, wheels (they have a diff offset tho' i hear...) etc etc...

additionally;

how hard is it to rebuild an IX transmission? is this something i would want to get into? - OR - how difficult is it to swap in a manual transmission?

throw on the sideskirts, rear sway, and there's some other goodies im sure...

Brake booster(takes up less room), all interior except carpet, tons more..

You cannot use the suspension. The wheels do have a different offset, but would work with spacers.

Honestly, if the car is in good shape except the transmission, swap in a manual.

excellent shape, 4dr however. and i don't know how hard the tranny's are to swap in, it would be my first swap lol. i heard the bellhousings and something else are different on it possibly? i dunno, i've never been under an iX

the whole ix drivetrain & oilpan are different from the rwds, so scrap that idea! If the car was in good shape bodywise and its only the transmission then I'd buy it and try to repair/replace it and take the parts off of your i and swap to the ix. ix's are getting rarer and rarer...
