    Shipping seats?

Anyone have some advice on shipping seats? More specifically, which companies seem to be most cost effective for shipping larger items?

Fedex Ground. I shipped 2 E34 power seats from NC to CA for about $110 total- boxed them individually. E30 seats should be cheaper as they are lighter + smaller.

For boxes, to go to Sears or an appliance store, and ask them for washing machine/dryer boxes.

I shipped a pair of buckets, 'nestled" them together (imagine race seats 69ing) and put them in two of UPS' biggest boxes

Another option is to remove the backs from the bottoms, I did this and shipped two bottoms in one box and two backs in another cost around $50

I got my M3 seats shipped from Texas to Tennessee for $60 via Greyhound. That was in two full size boxes...about 3" all around the seats.
That is less than half the price quoted by Fedex ground or UPS ground.
Not only that, the total shipping time was about 1 1/2 days.

No that was total threw Fedex, the Back cost around $20ish and the bottoms around $35-$40 boxes were 18 inches high at max.
