What is wrong with this car?

Just wondering, no real reason, but how the hell can a "perfect' $50k car sell for $10k?

    so shady.

I wonder why the shift knob looks so used? Where are the m3 floormats!!!???

If that was for real, I will buy it right now.

His last item was a cheap 'hooked on phonics' set, why the jump from cheap education to an M3?

I would say that he probably was going for one positive feedback before the big bait. It's common...they get you to pay through an escrow service that they made in their livingroom. Some guy was about to sell me a 97 328is for $4500...said he just needed it gone. I checked out the escrow website and it's verisign signiature was an extension of the website itself...not the verisign website. Mad shady...I would have lost 4500. I hope none of you won that auction....

Got an email from the guy,
                    Hello there,

First of all I want to thank you for contact me and your interest in my BMW.
I know there are numerous offers on eBay and I'm glad that you choose to
contact me regarding your willingness to purchase.

I have closed my auction earlier because someone has offered me the buy it
now price, but he is unable to send me the payment right now, so the car is
                    still for sale.

My wife was recently promoted so we had to move in Greece. We brought the
car with us, wanting to register it here, but I couldn't because in order to
get it registered here it will need serious engine modifications to comply
with the EU emission standards. The car is bought from US and is made for US
market. So that is why I preffer to sell it quick now and get rid of it
while I still can, because time is running and I can't keep it like that,
there is a deadline term when I must pay the import tax, so I can't afford
to lose time and I prefer to make some money while I still can.

The price I want to obtain for it is $10,000(this price includes shippment
                    and insurance charges).

The truck is like new, completely working, low miles, 2002 model. It is US
model with US specs and passed the US test emissions. All the manuals and
the original documentation are written in eight languages. You will receive
your car in 8-9 working days by Lufthansa at your home address. It is
insured in case of damage and it takes 8-9 days to be delivered at your
DOOR. The title is clear and you will register it in your state. I will send
the car having written on it 'gift' so you won't have to pay any additional
taxes. It will come with all the papers (warranty, insurance etc. ...).

The shipping costs and the insurance taxes of the package will be down to me
and you only pay for the money transfer commission when you wire the funds,
which is about 4% from the total amount sent. The truck is being shipped
from Greece and you won't have to pay for customs or any additional taxes
when it will arrive in your country. There may be some customs for you to
pay, but if you wish we can avoid them: you'll declare you send money to a
friend and I will declare the shipping as a gift/donation.

The payment is fully refundable, if for any reason you do not accept the car
or if it has scratches, hidden defects, or it is not as advertised. I will
even pay for the shipping back to my location if you reject it but since it
is a state of the art vehicle and works and looks perfectly I am positive it
                    would not get to this.

I am requesting a $3,000 deposit prior shipping and the balance to be paid
                    after delivery and inspection.

I would like to use a third party for this deal because it is a large
purchase and I want a smooth transaction. I am a registered member with
Square Trade and I have completed a lot of successful deals using them. I
have a purchase protection account of $20,000 and I assume you know what
this means. If you did not hear about Square Trade here are their terms: if
you will not receive the car EXACTLY as advertised or you don't receive it
in 15 days since you made the deposit, Square Trade will refund you from my
                    Square Trade account.

If you agree to proceed please send me your full name and address so I can
send them to Square Trade with our transaction details.

                    Regards.

I had sent him an email asking "How can a $50k BMW go for $10k?"

                      That is all. :(

                        eBay guidelines.

Do not post links to eBay auctions unless you are the seller. Plain and simple. This will be strictly enforced.
