    1987 BMW 325-E30 father/son project car w/ tools
PLEASE read to the very end.

This is a once in a life time offer for the right father/son team. It’s not about the money; it’s about handing this car off to the right father/son team that has the will and income to finish this car. The educational and bonding value alone will be priceless.

I have a 1987, E30 car that I bought brand new in 1987 from Seattle BMW on Capitol Hill for $23,000- single owner. I started to do a massive body-off restore years ago. I bought a house a few years ago and between the house sucking up all my income and a terminal health condition that I have- I can no longer finish this project.
This car would be a perfect car for a father-son project. I’m looking for a father-son team who might be interested in finishing this car to a near stock condition. I’m NOT looking to part this car out OR to sell it to someone that wants to cut it up and make it into a race/track car- don’t even ask. I’ll take it to the scrap yard first.

I have at least $20,000 and thousands of hours into the restoration as it sits- I’ve done all the work myself using only the best of the best professional materials. None of the work done on this car has been done “half-assed”. My intention was to restore it to “better then new” condition then when it came out of the factory and money was never a consideration. I knew I would never recover the money that I would spend restoring this car to the quality that I wanted to achieve. It was more about the personal connection I have with this car and the brand. I have great love for the BMW automobiles. I started to tear it down after it hit 200K on the odometer, the engine and drive train was in perfect working order when the tear-down was started. Every single nut, bolt, glass, trim…. Everything that could be taken off has been removed, numbered and boxed up. Every single drop of oil, grease and sludge has been removed using high pressure water jets, solvents and degreasers. The body is 100% rust free and 100% bondo-free. The body had been media blasted (every inch top to bottom) and all the rubber under coating has all been removed and professionally re-coated beyond factory standards. The cab and trunk has all been professionally sound proofed (well beyond factory). The main body has been professionally re-painted with high quality “House of Color” 2k paint (primed/metallic silver base coat-sealer/ metallic midnight Sapphire blue base coat / two coats clear and a 3rd coat of UV resistant clear) The body still needs to be wet-color sanded/polished. The main body of the car is for the most part ready for reassembly. I have ALL the paint and custom color mixes to finish painting all the remaining panels that have not been painted yet. The engine has been fully degreased, and disassembled and everything has been tagged, and numbered and is now ready to go to the machine shop. The body is currently resting on a frame-dolly with wheels.

I have been stock piling thousands of dollars worth of brand new OEM parts for this car including trim, brand new dash, raw high quality leather for the seats, new head liner and hundreds of other parts. In my opinion if you were to continue to restore this car to the point that I wanted to take it to your still looking at least $10,000+ to finish it in a top quality custom rebuild that I had envisioned.

I’m also interested in selling with this car a brand new, high end Miller Mig welder that will weld both very thin to very thick steel and alum. I also will include a 240 volt high-end commercial air compressor that can be used to finish the paint and large enough to power the most demanding air tools. I also will include the HVLP spray gun… tools, upholstery sewing machine, powder coating system, every book and manual ever printed for the E30 including 1000 of pages of technical manuals to show you how every last nut and bolt goes back together… in fact I will include most everything I own to help you and your son to rebuild this car-

Sound interesting? If you have a large shop or garage to finish this car as well as the income and the will… give me a call and come take a look. Remember- for me it’s not about the money- but I'm thinking a flat $5,000. The Mig welder and air compressor alone is worth that.
