Hi I am kind of new on here but noticed you guys seem to be really into your E30's. I am just wondering why that is. I have an E46 M3 but used to own an E30 and I have to tell you the quality of and performance of the new cars is way better. If I was on a limited budget I would be all for an E30 but am really happy to make the step up to a newer model.

Just curious as to why guys chose an E30 over the newer models. Was it because you could not afford a newer model or because you like old cars?

Maintenance is a breeze when it comes to these cars. They are cheap to throw around, fun to drive, look good, and when it comes to breaking something it can usually be fixed with a visit to your local junkyard. I have hardly had any problems with my car after 20+ years its been in my family.

I'm new on this site, too. I probably have no right to say it, but...

Why the hell would you ask members of an E30 site why they drive an E30? The newer cars are overweight, overcomplicated, and look just like the other 500k that are on the road. Your car basically drives itself, while mine is truly a 'driver's car'.

Your car screams young, pretentious prick, while mine screams BMW enthusiast. :)

Now, don't get me wrong. The new cars are very nice, but the BMW's of years past were the hot shit. The 3-series has gotten increasingly bigger and more powerful, slowly forgetting the original beauty of the series. A small, light, powerful car that handles like a go-cart while seating 4 adults comfortably. Viva la E30!

Sorry, but wrong question on the wrong site. Why do you choose to drive the same car everyone else does? To me, the only thing to do with that E46 M3 would be to pull the engine and stick it in my E30.
