My friend has one like that ^^^^, he has put 4 clean wheels on top of each other with a round glass on it, and there are colored lights inside so it looks really cool when plugged in. Having the tires on the wheel makes it look a lot better, and if it's not stretched, you don't have to worry about the glass sliding off.

I do have a nice clean spare chrome 16" Porsche 928 wheel & 14" basketweave wheel that I want to do something with. I just don't have the place to do it.

I can't remember where it was but I read an article once about this furniture company that makes everything out of car parts. Just like you, they used a camshaft for the base of the table, they used blocks for tables, etc. Pretty cool idea! Is the glass just resting on top of the wheel?

The link is dead now though. Their table seemed lighter and more... classy - they cut off most of the rim leaving just the front and a piece of rim.

One of things I plan doing and my gf hopes I never will ;)
