I'm taking an AutoCAD class as part of the welding program at school and I'm modeling a shift knob... I plan on actually making it but not sure of how to make it stay on the lever. Machining it to stay on with friction would yield a cleaner look, but not sure how well it would work. Other option is some set screws... How are your metal aftermarket knobs held on??? I'm planing on machining it out of brass. Brass Machines so pretty...

I had one that had a "rib/collar" that came up to the knob at the base and a small allen screw tighend up against the shaft.
Does that make sense? I can see if I can find it.sigpic

My Momo knob just has 3 little set screws around the bottom of the knob. It then has a collor which screws on over these so you can't see anything. (unrelated note, for thel ife of me I can't screw that color on so I just have the shift boot pulled up around and over)Originally posted by z31maniacI just hate everyone.
