Question for those with a quick release

Might be common sense because i never read the manual.....i have a NRG quick release and it wont stay stuck back like normal when you push the.....um....sleeve back and push the pin down to lock it back.
Are you supposed to lubricate the ball bearings? When i bought it new i remember there being some sort of lubrication or light grease on the balls themselves.
So my question is: are you supposed to lubricate it? Id really hate to have to spend another 100 bucks or however much it was a year ago.

    Thanks in advance

Just a suggestion. I always contact the manufacturer on issues like this and if needed infer that the product may be defective as it does not stay locked down or latched. Sometimes the manufacturer will honor a warranty even if another company sold the item to me. I plead my case and try and not take no for an answer.

I have an nRG and it does not stay in the back position. Once you remove the wheel, let go and that all there is to it. I have never greased the bearings and mine has worked for years of autoXing every weekend, than a year of sitting.
