A Few Windy City Vintagefest Photos

Since I was helping out this year I didn't get around to taking more photos, but thought I'd post these that I took early. Had 21 E30's show up, everything from a couple M3's to a Baur convertible brought up from Indy by Reggies Motorworks. The M1 and '58 Isetta unfortunately were no-shows, but there were three great old bikes, lots of 2002's (Blunt even brought his Mom along), E28 M5's, a 3.0 coupe, a beautiful 1600, a '68 2000CS and a 2002 Touring owned by Martin Meissner from ZF. Even a couple of Z8's. Blunt won best 2002 for the second year in a row. Thanks to the guys from ZF Industries for giving tours and allowing us to host at their facility again.

The name tag photo is my wife by the way. Notice what her initials are since we got married...

Hi trent, thanks for posting these. we all had a great time with the exception of the mishap on the way in. one of the minnesota guys rear ended my buddies M535 euro car on the freeway in rush hour. a pretty good hit but both cars drove away . the 02 nose is trashed and the M535 rear section is fucked up but fixable. everyone felt terrible but got over it and made the best of the weekend. i just got home. car ran great and my mom had a blast. shes a trooper.. running 80mph in my M2 all the way with no complaining

Damn, I didn't hear about that until now. I remember wondering about the blue 02 with the front all pushed in. Never even noticed the damage to the M535. My wife did the same exact thing during rush hour with an E36 we used to have and I can't tell you how many times I've seen it on the Eisenhower. Glad they got over it okay and no punches were thrown.

...and really enjoyed talking to your Mom. What a sweetheart. She seemed to be having a great time and enjoying the cars as much as we were. Did ya let her drive at all???;)

my mom is a trip. she was trying to get ben thongsai to do an auto swap into his 3.0 coupe and then trade it for my e30m3 im storing at her house. she doesnt drive a stick but loved bens 3.0 coupe. i told her she could not do that as she didnt have the title to my m3 but she didnt care. she had a blast. i may fly her down to vintage at the vineyard next year.
