There should be an "e30 of the month" Section

This is a car forum, dedicated to help, dicuss, and show our cars with other e30 members. It's been turned into a place where you spend your time not talking about cars, but making fun of others. How weird is it when you think about it? Why not be helpful and nice?
I don't want to turn this into a grudge thread so i'm going to leave it at that.

Stick on topic of the COTM improvement ideas so a format for Criv could be all ready to go when he eventually has the time to do this.

why can't we just have a mod setup a stickied thread in general discussion, that should be easy enough right? I mean do we really need an extra tab at the top of the page set a side for cotm? We shouldn't have to make James do any special coding just to setup a cotm contest
Just pick a few cars per month or per season, post a thread with a poll, and then have the members of r3v vote on which one will be the cotm. And then if we really want we can make a thread dedicated to the e30 that won to show off some pics and more info on the car.

That's not a bad idea. A temporary COTM Thread until the section is made. I'll volunteer to be in charge of making the threads and everything if nobody else wants to.

First we pick what the first category would be.
Then I'll make a thread, each person nominates 1 car (doesn't have to be yours, if it is you're kind of egotistical), in the nomination, just say who's car it is, what model, and post ONE pic.

Of the however many we get I'll make a poll of them and then everybody gets to vote over a 5 day period. When the poll closes the winner will be obvious and then I would PM them asking numerous questions and asking for pics.

How does this sound to everybody? If it sounds good, then what should the first category be? :D

Haha Yea, it makes sense. I do agree a car a month is a bit too many. But how about two cars are picked for each category so every two months two cars are picked and that will make 12 for a calendar.

Edit: Remember guys, we have to have categories that range from The Factory Fresh to the "Fuh Raze" and everything in between. Make the categories wide-spread to get the best variety.

I don't think you guys are getting this.

We aren't doing a simple "every e30 enters, whoever's is the best wins!" kind of thing. That wouldn't make any sense at all. There isn't anything to win. It's to have others see cool e30's they don't usually see.

How do these categories sound to you guys if we were to do 12.

1. Factory Fresh - The Car is so original and clean, it looks like it just rolled off the production line.

2. Pre-Facelift - Early Taillights. (diving boards with facelift body don't count)

3. Facelift - Late Taillights.

4. M-Technic - FULL M-tech 1 or M-tech 2 kitted e30 of any type (vert, coupe, sedan, touring)

5. 4-Door - Need I explain

6. Convertibles - Convertibles, hardtops welcome

7. Track - Equipped for track use

8. Ghetto - Murdered (Blacked out), Chrome, Ridiculously big wheels, Dropped

9. Original Owner - Not 3rd or 2nd owner, but Original Owner, you bought your e30 from the dealership when it was a brand new car. A Car that has been in your family since new is also acceptable.

10. Aftermarket - If it's hard to find anything OEM on the car besides the shell, this category if for you

11. Tourings - All e30 wagons welcome

12. Hartge/Alpina - The Rarest of the rare. Any Hartge or Alpina e30 step forward. Must be ORIGINAL. No replicas or fakes.

What does everybody else think? If we Like these, which should we do first. And how should we pick of these categories to make it so it's not an e30 a month?
