    how much would you offer?

found a 1990 325i on the web not to far from me. Talked to the guy on the phone and he seems to know partly what he is talking about. says interior is mint(non sport seats), and exterior is in great shape. runs amazing.....

here is a part from the site
Carfax certified 72k miles, owned by adult BMW enthuiast, email for pics, very good exterior, excellent no rip crack interior, rare condition, $5k in professionallyt installed upgrades past 2 years: bilstein sport shocks, eibach sways, H&R springs 1' drop, B&B stainless exhaust, K&N cold air intake, new ZF steering rack + control arms for perfect tracking, cold/ converted air cond, bosch plat plugs, Blaupunkt cd/ polk speakers, BFG TA 215 tires with 75% left, new battery, rotors and pads, only Mobil 1 synthetic, no dissapointments needs nothing. Neg for quick sale, new car and kid on the way. Want to get to someone who breaths rondell. thanks.

    problem: he wants 6k obo
no way i am paying 6k for a bronzit 325i. the guy is crazy if he thinks he is getting back what he put into it. what would you guys offer him. p.s. pics on the way when i get them.
edmunds value for his car is $3,414 w/o all the extras he has in it. so what do you guys think a fair offer is.

Technically, that car could sell for $3500-$4000 in that condition.
Lack of options and the color means that in the E30 enthusiast market, it's worth more like $3200-$3500, at best.

yea i know what you mean. Im not crazy about the color at all. After talking to this guy he seems to think that his car is in amazing shape and rides better than any other e30 out there. suspension was totally rebuilt. Fully replaced all urethane bushings, bilstein sports, H&R, eibach sways. Thats one of the big reasons why i really want it. so i wont have to deal with that stuff. It was also garaged most of its life.

Now that I actually own a bronzit E30, my opinion counts I guess... it's really not that bad of a color if the paint is in really good condition. Chrome colored trim looks like shit on it though. It's a '90, so at least you won't have to worry about the dumb shining diving boards, but shadowline trim on a bronzit is a must. You could always repaint it later in life. Rust free, excellent condition 325is' are getting harder to find. Especially ones that come with a practically 100% new suspension system too. If you can talk him down to $3800 or so, I say go for it. Otherwise you're overpaying. Mods don't ad value to a car all that much. The fact that he's starting off asking 6K is a bad sign he won't let it go for what it's "really worth" unfortunately.

yes, i know that his starting price is way to high. I really dont think that he would sell the car under for under 4 grand. He seems to think it is worth way more than it accually is. He says the paint is in amazing condition. He says that he payed 7200 for it when he got it at 56k. When he got it he replaced the timing belt and waterpump. than just recently he did all the other mods. There is no way that i would pay over 4200 for this car but i hope that he is willing. thanks for the feed back, more would be great.

Well wasn't your main motivation for getting rid of your cabrio so you didn't have to deal with car costs? Why so eager to get another E30 then? Just wait a while. The right one will come along. In the next month or two more E30s (= old RWD cars) will pop up. You'd have more luck selling your cabrio in the spring too. People dump them for cheap in fall/winter. The E30 cabrio market is flooded right now.

that is very true. Im going to put my car on ebay now and see what i can get for it. Dont worry there will be a reserve on it so i wont let it go for less than i want to get for it. I want to get rid of the cabrio because it just isnt practical enough for a daily driving, If i could sell my e30 for around 6k and get this one for 4k, my debt problems will be set free. Whats so appealing about this e30 to me is 72k, full new urethane bushings, bilstien sports, H&Rs, Eibach adjustabl sways, brand new catback B&B exhaust, new waterpump, new timingbelt. The guy has taken very good car of it and he has alot of things on it that i had planed on doing anyway. So if hed be willing to go to 4k id probably take it with no regrets.

Sounds like a plan. Regardless of color, I would definitely not mind driving an excellent condition, nicely modded 325i with only 72Kmi, with $2K to spare.

the difference is that mine is accually worth 5,500 private party according to edmunds, and his is worth only 3,400 private party according to edmunds. Huge difference. my price is very fair. I dont expect to get the 6500 but i figured its worth a shot.
