    Cell Phone Question???

Ok guys about 2 weeks ago I found a LG-Tm510 Phone on the side of a trail at a local Gov. Park. The batt was dead and I had no way to charge it. I tried to find a charge of any friends cell phones that would work but no luck. I was planning on charging it and then was going to browse threw the phone book to find who lost it or whatever. So tonight I finally took an old AC-Dc convertor that had 6 volt ouput and soldered the leads onto the - and + terminals on the battery and got it to turn on. There are no numbers in the Phone book and the Celluar plan has been canceled as it won't let you make an out going calls. So I'm wondering will a Cell company reactivate a phone that has had an Insurance claim or that has been reported as lost to be re-activated by another user? I could take it in to the local Verizon store and tell them I found it but would then do no good as the person who lost it had probally gotten a new phone by now. Just wondering? Thanks guys.

Keep it charged, you can still make emergency 911 calls. If you want cell service, most give you a phone anyway, so BFD on the one you found.

Donate it to the local Battered Women and children shelter. They will be thankful to you and you can feel good about yourself.

I already have a cell phone but was thinking of maybe switching the coverage to this one since it's a nicer phone then I could give my current cell phone away.

Most likely when they cancelled their service, that put a flag up on the ESN # of that phone. If you try and activate it, it will probably come up in their system as "stolen".

Just donate it, be done with it.

Ya when I try calling on it it says the ESN number is not valid. I'll look into. I wish I could of gotten it charge sooner to try to see who it belonged to but couldn't. And even then there are no numbers or any info in the phone besides text mesages. I'll see if it can be reactivated at all if not then I'll donate it.

I go through phones like a woman through purses. Half of the battered women in KC probably have one of my old phones. :) Hmm, maybe I should leave some sort of contact number for them just in case they are hot and need some consoling. (so wrong, so wrong)
