I know carpet is hard to get ahold of and expensive but....

    First question:
I was having a conversation with a friend of mine today and he told me that sedan carpet retail was $980 for the front and $300 for the little rear pc. He then told me he could get me both pcs. for $590 with tax included. Im pretty sure that was for both pcs. Now, I know I have been on here only for a very short time and don't know you guys very well but Im willing to pass this along to whom ever wants to go ahead with it. I know I am. BTW, FYI...dealer cost on the front is $508 and $70 for the rear.

    Second question:
I am changing out my interior from tan to black. I am told that the back section of carpet was never available in black. So wtf color combo do people get with black interiors? Seems to not make sense to me to have a two-tone. If you guys can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. If that is true, I was gonna go for a black/tan interior including black w/tan inserts. But PREFER all black.

I am putting this in the GENERAL forum instead of Interior because everybody might not see it and it is something that some might not want to pass up. And another thing, I might be getting ahold of a full M-TECH II car fully done for FREE-$1500 depending on circumstances. I guess the car has been sitting on the side of this guys house for over 2 years.

It says $599 WITHOUT shipping. Hmmm....that's crazy since I saw for my own eyes that dealer cost is $508. Seems like they dont make much money on the deal. That's for the links. Anyways, if anyone wants to...the offer is there...;)

Black seats with grey carpet is typical.

Ughhh....I dont know if I like that setup. Maybe I will go black and tan depending if i go with a Red exterior. If I stay with a grey exterior then I have no choice to go gray...bleh@!

You could always dye it. There was a guy I worked with at the dealership that onl charged $85. It's a good alternative if your carpet isn't damaged; just dirty and stained.

Dying carpet is generally not a great idea IMO.. It usually becomes stiff and will lose its ability to be cleaned. If your carpet is that bad find someone with an extractor/steam cleaner first, I have one at the detail shop I run and I usually charge ~$50 to extract an interior. Ours is a $2800 NSS extractor but even the little Bissel mini-steam cleaners do a pretty nice job

When it comes to dying a carpet pm ZM Blue Devil, Levent did a fantastic job for Vlad's 318 build recently, ask what he used, it was definitely not the same as what most people do (rattle can dye)

you could do black seats with gray inserts and gray carpet with gray floor mats. not a bad way to pull off the colour combo thing.

I did mine with VHT rattle can (that shit is paint, dammit, not "dye") and it looks pretty good 3 years later...but I want better.

Levent, pipe up with your stuff!

The stock carpet is so tough in these cars, you should be able to find a set worth cleaning and dyeing. I just used a small pressure washer and it came totally clean.

A lot of people have had good luck with just tossing their carpet in a big bag with RIT dye, and letting it soak. Easy conv. to black without having stiff, painted carpet.
