^ thats actually a really good idea. even autocross is an inexpensive way to learn some of your car's limits.

      We have the same car!

I think you did ok on that car.

I have a shop in Mississauga near Crestlawn and Dixie. Your welcome to come by and we can give you a free opinion of the mecanical state of the motor.

I would say that would be my only worry is the Mechanical condition of the motor. As if anything goes wrong with it it's going to cost.

Check this thread for my rebuild story.

PM me if you'd like us to have a quick look at it.

      Here is my car

      Regards

Nice car, I'd be more then willing to take it off your hands if it becomes to much to care for.

That'd be awesome. How do you manage to rebuild that thing?!?! amazes me..BTW I do feel that it'd be safe to have a checkup, but was not sure where or how to get it done..So can i contact you if i feel that something goes wrong, or pay a visit?
BTW thanks a lot for the support guys ! I love the car..still can't believe it's here before my eyes...hehe

P.S. Just because it's my first car, doesn't mean I'm 16 years old you know..lol I'm in college..

Sure PM me. I've rebuilt a few motors, the S14 wasn't very different I just took my time and did the research.

Not to scare you but let say the motor had a hard life and was close to spinning a bearing, if you are not very mechanically inclined and were to drop off the car to have the motor rebuilt you are looking at around 7gs to do it right. Or 3gs to find a high mileage motor about ready for rebuild anyway and they are not easy to come by.

            I recommned:

-THe valve cover gets pulled to check the condition of the timing rails
-E36 Chain tensioner upgrade to eliminate cold chain slap which can
further damage the rails and compensate for the aged chain stretch.
-Oil pan gets pulled to install a oil baffle and a conrod cap on # 2 or 3
gets pulled to check bearing condition.
-Oil pump gets pulled to redloctite all the bolts on the oil pump housing as they can back off and you'll lose oil pressure.
-Oil pump is reshimmed to proper adjustment at that mileage.
            -Possible valve adjustment

If all that checks out you are in good shape and won't blow your motor.

Good luck and enjoy the car.
