    89 COUPE rear bumper swap?

I've searched through a ton of threads looking for info on the rear bumper swap for an 89, of course all I got was info about the cabby, some saying you have to modify, others saying you don't.

Either way the cab is different from the coupe so I need help. I'm looking at buying an 89 coupe, it's a DB car but already has the late model valance (not surprising since it's a transition model year and no the car wasn't modded). I know that the front plastic bumper bolts up without any problems. My question is will the rear plastic bumper bolt up without having to cut and modify it?

im not quite 100% on this but i think you have to cut the bumper for the wheel wells other than that it fits correct me if im wrong

89's came plastic bumpered AFAIK must have been either late 88 or early early 89.

If it has big tail lights(as it should), the front and back will bolt up no problem at all without any modification.

88+ would have the same tails as mine but they wouldnt fit on anything older.

Big tails suck, you don't want them.

I'll have to call the owner to find out what the VIN is so I can check, I doubt he'll know what tails to look for. I know the 88/89 cabs cam with early tails but the bumper was a direct swap (at least that's the case on thereisnoyun's).

I appreciate the help. Hopefully this thing will work out.

You will also need to change the plastic brackets that hold the ends of the bumper, they're not the same as the DB ones.
