looking to buy my first e30. have been on here reading as well as others, e30tech. got the bug a several years ago when I drove my friends car at an autocross, the car was the last e30 to win a scca national championship when it was a Dstock car, along time ago!I've always loved these cars and have been searching for a 318is. I found one local to me but the car isn't running any more. It ran last week and has been sitting about a week. it was running when parked. the owner/seller says the car just "clicks" when the key is turned. I'm hoping its just a really low battery and I can get a good deal. the owner says he just wants it gone and sounds like he doesn't know to much about cars.basically, I'm just looking for some other things to look for to diagnose this car when I go look at it this weekend. I'm gonna have 2 make a decision to buy it on the spot running or not. the car is a 91', 180k odometer quit 6months ago. white/sport seats/weaves/no dash cracks/lsd/common oil pan leakany help would be greatly appreciated, I really want one of thesejoe

personally, when i got the bug i spent 6 months researching...then months of looking with the intent i would scoop the best deal that came around (took me 6 months to find my baby; but 100% worth the wait)

Just look on the forums as much as you can before you go, youll find some good info. thats what i did. Another thing to check is power steering leaks. There supposedly common (mine has one).
