My salvage title car got hit dammit! Insurance claim question

So I got rear ended by some lady in a Ford Expedition while I was at a stop sign. I saw her stop behind me as I waited for traffic to clear to make my left. A minute later, BAM, that lady hits me. At first I though she got rear ended and the force pushed her car against mine, but that dumb ass supposedly let off the break and rammed into me. WTF!?

Anyways, what will happen to the insurance claim for my salvaged car? I wanna keep it as the damage wasn't major. Tail light broken, bumper scuffed up and paint damage.

Since it's that minor, I wouldn't have reported it.

If its that minor you shouldnt have anything to worry about, the lady's insurance company will estimate the damage and cut you a check, end of story.

In my experience, the approximate payout on previously salvaged cars that we total (again) is around 40%-60% of the value (in its pre-loss condition) if it had a clean title.

If they do total your car and you want to keep it, tell the claim rep you wish to do so and they will adjust the settlement minus the current salvage value of the car. You probably won't have to do much with the title since the car is already a salvage title but it can depend on the state the car is titled in.

If the car is fixable they should write the estimate on the damage to pre-loss condition. Since I deal exclusively with vehicles we total, I'm not sure what the protocol is for salvage title vehicles that are repairable. If they or the shop are nervous about taking care of the repairs, you might just want to cash out and do with it as you please.
