I think the real story is that the kid was arrested at his house shortly after he got away. Or at least that's what I read on the internet so it must be true.

i know old, but notice the part where they "caught" him, the time code goes away, and if you compare them, its a slowed down version of the kid slamming on the brakes and cutting across the highway.

From the story I've heard, the kid got away but his dad turned him in to the police a few days later. And yes, probably one of the most reposted videos of all time. ;)
